Agreement Overview

This Terms of Service governs all vehicle rentals operated by Bont Technologies LLC, doing business as DriveEase MD, located in Elkridge, Maryland. By completing a reservation, checking the "I agree" box at checkout, or accepting keys, you agree to all terms herein.

These terms apply to all direct rentals. Rentals booked through third-party platforms (Turo, Outdoorsy) are also subject to those platforms' policies in addition to these terms.

Renter Qualifications & Identification

Renter must present a valid, non-expired, government-issued driver's license matching their identity and payment method on file.
Minimum age is 21 years. Renters under 21 will not be served under any circumstances.
Renters aged 21–24 are subject to a young driver surcharge of $20.00 per day, applied automatically at booking.
Providing false, misleading, or fraudulent information constitutes a material breach and may result in immediate termination and permanent blacklisting.
Only the named renter and any pre-approved additional drivers listed in the rental agreement are authorized to operate the vehicle.

Comprehensive Damage Responsibility

The renter is fully responsible for all damage, loss, or theft of the vehicle during the rental period, regardless of fault.
Recoverable losses include: cost of repairs, loss-of-use fees (revenue lost while vehicle is out for repairs), diminished resale value, and all administrative costs.
Reckless driving, racing, off-roading, DUI, or allowing an unauthorized driver to operate the vehicle voids all insurance protections and places full liability on the renter.
Owner will document and photograph the vehicle at pickup and return. Renter's signature at pickup acknowledges the vehicle's noted condition.

Insurance & Liability

Renter is required to carry their own primary full-coverage automobile insurance, or purchase coverage through the booking platform if applicable.
Renter is generally responsible for all damages, loss of use, and diminished value of the vehicle, regardless of fault.
Renter agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Bont Technologies LLC / DriveEase MD from all third-party claims, injuries, or legal actions arising from use of the vehicle.
Owner's commercial insurance does not extend personal liability coverage to the renter.

Prohibited Uses, Fuel & Maintenance

Violation of any prohibition below may result in immediate termination, forfeiture of the security deposit, and additional fees as specified.

Smoking, vaping, or use of any tobacco or cannabis products inside the vehicle is strictly prohibited. Minimum $250.00 cleaning fee applies if evidence is found.
No pets of any kind — $150.00 fee applies regardless of size or duration.
Racing, off-roading, towing, rideshare, or commercial delivery use is strictly prohibited.
Operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any impairing substance is strictly prohibited.
No unauthorized drivers — $150.00 fee and immediate void of all insurance protections.
Vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as at pickup. $10.00 convenience fee + cost of fuel applies for any shortfall.
Renter is responsible for monitoring tire pressure during rental. Damage from neglect is renter's financial responsibility.

Geographic & Travel Restrictions

Vehicle must remain within a 200-mile radius of Elkridge, Maryland unless prior written authorization is obtained from Owner.
International travel is strictly prohibited under any circumstances.
Unauthorized out-of-radius travel: $75.00/day surcharge and/or immediate termination of the rental.
Owner must be notified immediately of any breakdown, accident, or theft regardless of location.

Tolls, Parking Tickets & Violations

Renter assumes 100% financial responsibility for all tolls, parking tickets, speeding citations, red-light camera fines, and any other violations incurred during the rental.
An administrative processing fee of $35.00 per infraction is charged in addition to the full cost of the underlying fine or toll.
Owner is authorized to charge the payment method on file or deduct from the security deposit for any violations discovered after the vehicle is returned.

GPS & Monitoring Disclosure

Renter acknowledges and consents that the vehicle may be equipped with GPS tracking and/or telematics technology.
GPS data may be used for security, fleet management, monitoring for unauthorized use, and vehicle recovery.
Disabling, tampering with, or removing any GPS device: $500.00 fine, immediate termination, and potential law enforcement reporting.

Breach of Contract & Repossession

Owner reserves the right to locate, disable, and repossess the vehicle at any time without prior notice if renter violates any provision of this Agreement or uses the vehicle for illegal purposes.
All repossession costs — towing, storage, and administrative fees — are the renter's financial responsibility.
By completing a reservation, renter waives any legal claims against Owner arising from the lawful repossession of a non-compliant vehicle.

Overdue Vehicles & Theft Reporting

If the vehicle is not returned within 24 hours of the scheduled return time and the renter is unreachable, Owner may classify the vehicle as stolen or unlawfully retained.
Owner reserves the right to report the vehicle to law enforcement if not returned after the rental period expires.
Failure to return may result in criminal charges for theft, fraud, or unlawful retention of a motor vehicle.
Late return fees of $25.00 per hour apply beyond the agreed return time without prior authorization.

Security Deposit

A refundable security deposit of $250.00 is required at pickup before keys are released.
Returned within 5 business days of vehicle return, less any applicable deductions. Itemized statement provided for all deductions.
Deductions may include any charges due under this Agreement — damage, cleaning, fines, fuel, late fees, etc.

Roadside Emergencies

In the event of any roadside emergency, renter must contact Owner immediately at (410) 497-7211.
Renter must not authorize any repairs exceeding $100.00 without prior written approval from Owner.
Unauthorized repairs may not be reimbursed. Owner will coordinate assistance as quickly as possible.

Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Maryland.
Unresolved disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration in Howard County, Maryland.
All claims against Owner must be brought within one (1) year of the event giving rise to the claim.
If any provision is found unenforceable, remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
